While investigating the international dating site CharmDate, we saw right on the home screen that they have a large database of singles to choose from. CharmDate also states that they offer “top-level safety and professional support” so we tested out their theory. How will they rate? 

CharmDate has singles from Russia & Ukraine, which could give them a nice database to choose from, indeed. The mission of this site is to provide members with safe, easy-to-use services to fulfill their needs. With the sign-up box right on the homepage, we got the sense that they are pretty straightforward. They only ask for your first and last name, gender, birthday, email and password. Now, let’s dive in.

After filling out the sign-in box from the homepage, it takes you to another page. There is a second box that appears asking you to answer a few more questions. You can close it out or select the “Do It Now” button. We selected to answer the questions now for better illustration of this review. Also, note that we did receive a welcome email right away asking us to verify our account. Most scam sites wouldn’t bother so this is promising.

After clicking the button, another box appears. There are 8 questions for you to answer, which is a bit lengthier than some of the other dating sites. 

Questions include:

1. What kind of relationship are you looking for on our sites?
2. What age of women fits you best?
3. What is your ideal partner’s height?
4. Would you mind if she smokes or drinks?
5. Would you mind a partner with children?
6. Are there some common interests/hobbies you are looking for in your partner?
7. Do you have a minimum education level requirement for your partner?
8. Do you have any preference on the lady’s level of English?

Once you answer the questions, you can start browsing their site. They offer a quick tour if you would like to have it or you can close out the box and browse on your own. Now let’s take a look at their profiles.

When you close out of the “Start Your Journey Now” box, you can see ample profile pictures. The page is pretty busy and there is so much to look at, we had a hard time deciding where to start. For instance, you can complete your profile, take a site tour, try out their CamShare, click on a profile, check out their app…the list goes on. Some dating sites are cleaner than CharmDate when it comes to layout and design. As a result, we believe that CharmDate can improve in this area. As a side note, there is a chat bar that pops up and continues to move on the right side of the screen. It’s distracting and a bit annoying. It kept us from being able to really focus on the content of their site without constant effort. So let’s discuss what the profiles look like on CharmDate.

There are quite a view things to do and see on the profile at first glance. You can chat, CamShare, send a gift, send an email, make a call or add her as a favorite.You will also see a statement from your lady of choice, saying a little bit about herself. On the top right corner, you can see her birthday so if you wanted to send a more personalized gift or message, you are able to do so. One thing that seems strange is the Verified Profile link by the profile name. When you hover over it, it flashes multiple times and doesn’t always display the information. We believe CharmDate should take a look at improving this area on the profiles. Information is only good if it can be viewed. There are multiple pictures of your special lady to view and this is always nice. In addition, some pictures are locked because you have to be a premium member to view them. We will discuss pricing later in this review.

As you continue to scroll, you will see some more details about your lady of choice. You’ll be able to discover how much she weighs, if she has children and even her education level. There is also an area where she talks about what her ideal match would be. You can view her interests and quickly determine how much you both have in common. 

The last part of the profile is the “Match Q&A” on the bottom. This is unique, as we have not seen this information displayed interactively like we see it on CharmDate. On this section of the website, you can dig deep to see how much you really have in common. How? Each of you answer the same questions and you are able to immediately view her answer after you give your own. This is an excellent addition to the profile and allows you to be engaged with your special lady right away.

You can view profiles no matter where you are at any point of your day. Tagging favorites is simple and easy with the tap of your finger. All of the interactive services on desktop are also available on the mobile app, such as chat, email, phone calls and picture exchanges. Even more exciting, the app is available with Android and iPhone. 

This is a handy way to interact via video with your special lady. The fact that CharmDate has this technology on their site says a lot about their technical awareness. In fact, over 60 million users are registered for CamShare so it’s exciting to see CharmDate in with the times.

You can add credits to your account in three increments. If you choose to do 2 credits at a time, keep in mind that this option will only be available on your first order. You will not see this option come up again. The second increment you can choose is 16 credits and the third increment is at 100 credits.

In the fine print of buying credits, CharmDate discusses how to renew a premium membership. We were not aware of it at first, since it is in small print and with a very light gray text color. Not having this information displayed openly makes it seem like CharmDate is trying to hide something. We did not get a good feeling with how they handled the Premium Membership information. Indeed, this is an area of improvement for CharmDate. 

You are, however, able to find more information about premium membership by clicking the arrow next to your name. If you click Go Premium, the box below will appear. This information should be more accessible, as we found it on mistake while reviewing the site.

Most dating sites have McAfee Secure so it’s a good sign to see CharmDate has it as wel.

With this seal, you can be sure that CharmDate has a valid website identity and encrypted information. This is another level of securing data and transactions.

This is a policy crafted by CharmDate that will walk their members through reporting disputes. They have a Dispute Resolution Team that will help you reach a final conclusion to your issue. You are able to write a notice of complaint if you have dissatisfaction with service quality or dissatisfaction with authenticity  of member profiles.

In order to test out the customer service on CharmDate, we sent a message. We wanted to know how long it would take for them to get back with us. Impressively, they reached out to us within 24 hours. Their response to our question was very detailed, thorough and incredibly polite. They even told us to have a lovely day at the end of the email. This is an example of exceptional customer service and other international dating sites would do well to take their lead in this area.
