Much like Russian-Dating, you can view profiles from the homepage on LovePlanet.ru. The profiles are coed so you can tell that the site is for men and women. We were not able to find an “About Us” link or page from the home screen, but hope that we will be able to once we sign up.

Upon clicking “Sign Up” from the homepage, we were brought to another page. LovePlanet asked us to introduce ourselves with name, gender and birthday (which was in Russian). There are only three short pages of questions on LovePlanet, which is pretty good compared to the other sites on Russian Dating Review. The second page asked what gender we were looking for and what our intent was on LovePlanet. Lastly, the final page asked us the city we lived in, email and to make a password. It was easy and fast to sign up. Alternatively, you can sign in with Facebook or Instagram. 

Subsequently, they will ask you to upload pictures. This is standard for most dating sites, as users want to see what you look like. You may choose to upload now or later. Finally, LovePlanet will let you know to check your email for confirmation. We found it interesting that after you confirm your email, it takes you to your profile instead of the profile of other people. This is one difference we saw on LovePlanet that the other dating sites don’t do and rightfully so. When you want to start your journey of dating someone, you want to look at profiles as soon as you can.

You can search profiles within the US or internationally, which gives you a lot of options. If you don’t change the search settings, matches from your city will show up by default. One downside of LovePlanet is that you have to find some of your own matches. Other dating sites almost bombard you with matches for you, but not LovePlanet. Maybe this approach is working for them, but we certainly didn’t feel like we were being catered to.

On the other hand, if you click on the tab that says “Meet New People” at the top of the page, it will ask you if you like certain people. Similar to the swipe action we found on other dating sites, you can select “yes” or “no” for each lady you like or dislike. 

The profiles themselves are very plain and you really don’t get to know much about any of the women. The only thing you will see is a picture and what they are looking for. Unfortunately, this is just not enough information to determine if you are interested in someone. 

From a review standpoint, it is always great to see a dating site with a mobile application. Living in the digital age, this is almost a must if any dating site wants to really stay connected with it’s users.

During your time on the LovePlanet, you are able to see your popularity rank. Of course, when you start off, your rank will be very low. However, this is a great motivator for users to stay engaged.

When it comes to pricing on LovePlanet, the cost is very reasonable. The only issue is that they have the totals in rubles. It could be that their audience is mostly Russian, but it would be nice if they catered to the Western daters as well. An equivalent price in USD would be a good addition to improve how users understand the pricing structure for LovePlanet. With some research, we could see the deals weren’t that bad, but not everyone will have time to do the same.

Essentially, to try LovePlanet’s Premium Account for two days, you would only pay $1.07. For seven days, it increases to $7.65. If you only want to try it out for 30 days, it will cost you $3.82. At three months, it comes out cheaper and you only have to pay $1.91.
